After months of rumors, leaks and speculation, LG on Wednesday officially announced the long-awaited G2 smartphone.
The LG G2 is a super-thin 5.2-inch device that LG claims is “inspired by you.” The phone features a 5.2-inch 1080p IPS display, which has 423 pixels per inch. It’s also the first worldwide-launching device to be powered by a Qualcomm(s qcom) Snapdragon 800 CPU. The G2 features a quad-core 2.26GHz chip, to be precise.
Perhaps the most interesting detail is that all of the physical controls are located on the back on the phone, right beneath the camera sensor, which is where LG claims most people tend to rest their hands. To do this LG had to build a 3,000mAh battery that would fit into the phone without getting in the way of the buttons.
